Businesses encouraged to boost international trade during Export Week

A series of regional events are taking place this week (7 – 11 April) as part of UK Trade & Investment’s Export Week, aimed at expanding current exporter’s activity and to encourage businesses to start exporting.

In Wales, the Welsh Government is hosting two events to encourage businesses to boost their export activity.

A ‘Meet the Export Experts’ event will be held on 9 April at the Parc Thistle Hotel in Cardiff. The event will give businesses the opportunity to meet representatives from the Welsh Government’s overseas offices to discuss opportunities in the following markets; Canada, China, India, Japan, Middle East, North Africa, USA and Western Europe.

Information and support about how to grow your export business will also be available at the ‘Export Wales’ event on 10 April in Venue Cymru, Llandudno.

The event will include workshops discussing export licensing, currency exchange risks, trading in the single market and managing agents and distributors. Businesses will also have the opportunity to discuss trading in foreign markets with experts in the following markets; India, the Gulf (UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia), USA, China, Japan, Canada, Western Europe and Mexico.

Export Week, a national campaign held twice a year, aims to provide established and would-be exporters with practical advice on doing business overseas.
