Welsh marquetry company, Aryma, will join a host of creative companies at the GREAT Festival of Creativity in Shanghai this March (2-4).
Based at Shanghai’s Long Museum, and led by HRH The Duke of Cambridge, the international festival will feature UK innovation in sectors such as fashion, luxury retail, health, technology and entertainment, creating opportunities for companies to break into China – one of the world’s fastest growing markets.
Powys-based Aryma will promote its modern decorative marquetry in Shanghai. Aryma’s work involves bespoke marquetry for residential projects, luxury car interiors, super-yachts and private jets.
Aryma is one of 500 British companies that will use the festival to reach a Chinese and global business audience. Other businesses taking part in the festival include The Cambridge Satchel Company, Arts and Humanities Research Council and the National Theatre.
During the three-day event, the National Theatre will highlight its partnership between the National Theatres of Great Britain and China by showcasing a life-size puppet horse, Joey, from the internationally-acclaimed theatrical production War Horse.
“We are excited to be working with the National Theatre of China on the next chapter of the extraordinary journey that War Horse has taken around the world; we very much look forward to sharing it with Chinese audiences in Beijing, Shanghai and all over China,” said Nicholas Hytner, director of the National Theatre.
A unique partnership between the British Government and major private sector organisations, the festival is part of the GREAT Britain campaign, which promotes the UK as a world-class destination for trade, tourism, investment and education to generate jobs and growth.
The GREAT Britain campaign has delivered a direct return to the economy of over £1bn since its launch and is now active in 144 countries.
